The Fold exists to provide refuge to children in need, by investing love. The plight of the young and defenseless has always been close to their hearts. Their primary vision is to assist children, who have been ravaged by the loss of family, poverty, disease and abuse. They are located on a farm outside of Vaalwater. They have family style living with indigenous parents and will have up to 8 children in each home. Eight houses are planned, the first three houses have been in operation and they hope to have a fourth opening soon.


A husband and wife team from the United States who have started a children’s home for orphans and vulnerable children in the Waterberg district. They are currently working with another couple who are South Africans. It is a home based on solid moral values. They are supported by a Ministry called Prince Ministry in South Africa, which is a non-profit organization in the United States. They are also registered as a non-profit in South Africa.


Bulge River is situated in the Waterberg Mountains of the Limpopo Province of South Africa. There are multiple suburbs within a half hours drive which have large and extremely impoverished communities. As an established a non-profit organization here in South Africa called “The Fold, SA Children’s Home”, they have purchased a 37 hectare property outside of Vaalwater, aiming to have 8 households on the property with indigenous house parents and 8 children in each home.


The children at the homes will be taught English, but will also speak an African language. They will all be taught basic skills such as cooking, cleaning, sewing, gardening, taking care of animals. School will be up to grade 12, with the possibility of university based on each child’s ability, or vocational training. They will help these children to identify and pursue their dreams.

They want to offer Sports/agriculture/animal husbandry/computer skills, etc. Their goal is to invest in the lives of these children for the long term benefit of themselves, their village and South Africa. They have opened a private home schooling centre on the property and have hired three teachers. As the classes and grades increase, they will hire additional teachers if they can’t get volunteers to help. The aim is to create a loving and secure environment filled with an atmosphere of contagious joy and promoting a good moral character.


They rely totally on donations from the general public, businesses and the commercial sector.

Currently it costs R25 000 per month to run the first household and entire farm and it will be an estimated cost of around R15 000 per month to support each additional household
