| “Giant grey black thunder clouds gather in the distance, the wet smell of rain mingled with dust hangs in the air and you are on an open game drive vehicle - the sky lit up by a flash of lightening - at the same time hoping the six lionesses will/won’t catch the kudu cow they have been patiently stalking for the past 45 minutes….their team work is silent and effective, their concentration never wavering……time will tell who will be the victor – the rainstorm (getting wondrously wet), the lionesses or the kudu.” |
|
| From here, you depart to Ant’s Nest and Ant’s Hill Bush Homes - www.waterberg.net - which is situated in the Waterberg. The journey between Madikwe and the Waterberg can be done either by road or private air transfer. |

Spend 3-4 days at either one of the Ant’s Lodges where you will have the opportunity to view game from horseback, game vehicle or on foot.
“Our reserves are ones of diverse topography and vegetation ranging from wide open plains to beautiful mountainous areas, enabling us to naturally sustain the widest variety of game possible. They boast over 40 species of game including the rare sable antelope, nyala, oryx, eland, giraffe, buffalo, white rhino and well over 300 species of resident and migrant birds. In addition to game drives, the reserves offer a safe and secluded environment to allow guests of all ages to enjoy guided bush walks, horse rides, cycling and game drives.” |
|
The journey then continues on to Garonga Safari camp in the Makalali Game Reserve west of the Kruger National Park – www.garonga.com
Travelling from Ant’s to Garonga can be done either by road or private air transfer. Suggested stay would be 3-4 days.
Here you can explore the marvel of the Lowveld bush on game drives or game walks. And for the more adventurous, try a ‘sleep out’ or bush picnic. |
|
| “Apart from the two safaris per day which can also include game walks getting up close and personal, Garonga also offers guests a ‘sleep out’ experience where guests are dropped off at dusk on a platform deck, and a delicious picnic dinner is there waiting with all their drinks. They sleep out on their own and are collected in the morning. We also offer massages, easel drawing boards, and microlite flips over the Reserve.” |
